Lionheart

He was strong

With a mighty roar

In summer sun

And winter storm

He carried us all.

They broke his back

Tore his jaw

We looked away

What the lion saw

Nobody was watching at all.

His heart cut out

Twist of a knife

We did not grieve

For not our life

We did not care at all.

With pelt in hand

They turned to us

What once was mighty

They turned to dust

There was no one to save us at all.
